Kanna is often referred to as a ‘natural Prozac’ as a result of its anxiety reducing, stress relieving, sedative and confidence boosting properties. However, prescribed mood enhancers can cause addiction and harm to the body, whereas Kanna doesn’t have these same issues. This has made it one of the safest mood enhancers available.

Do NOT consume Kanna if taking medication, consult your physician before trying any herbal supplements including kanna.

Kanna is a Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor(SRI), which are typically used as antidepressants for major depression and anxiety disorders. Sceletium Tortuosum should NOT be mixed with any other (S)SRIs (think prescription antidepressants, or strong herbal supplements) or Monoamine oxidase inhibitors(MAOIs), an antidepressent found in plants. Antidepressants, natural or otherwise, increase serotonin levels in the brain. This is not advised.

With any herbal supplement it's best to consult your physician first. Start small, 5-10 mg or smaller of our MT55 or similar under the tongue and slowly work your way up with a day or two minimum between consuming more. This is about the size of the smaller scooper supplied with our extracts. As with any new herbal, it's best to have patience and start small.

We recommend 1-3 full squeezes for a more relaxing variety of Kanna.

Kanna is a plant known scientifically as Sceletium tortuosum, indigenous to South Africa. Kanna has historically been used by local peoples for hydrration and its potientally psychoactive effects, which commonly are reported for mood enhancement and possible anxiety reduction. The active compounds in Kanna, such as mesembrine, interact with the brain's serotonin receptors, making it a subject of interest for its potential impact on mental well-being.

There is 5-6 mg of Kanna in each gummy.

Some users report improved focus and cognitive function after using Kanna. The herb's potential to reduce stress and anxiety may indirectly contribute to better concentration and mental clarity, although individual experiences can vary.

Kanna should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture to preserve its potency and effectiveness. The shelf life can vary depending on the form of Kanna (e.g., powdered, spray, dried plant) and how well it is stored.
