Home Gummy Kit is the full set for making your own botanical gummies without hunting down five separate ingredients. Tapioca syrup for the body and sweetness, fruit syrup for the flavor, agar agar for the set, citric acid for tartness, and silicone square molds to pour into. You bring the extract. Nothing in the box sets on its own; the agar is what turns the syrup into a gummy.

What it is. The same five things we use for our own gummies, boxed together at a lower price than buying them one at a time. Droppers are not included; a measuring cup with a spout or a small ladle fills the molds fine.

How to use it. Combine about 2 parts tapioca syrup to 1 part fruit syrup in a pot, enough to fill your molds. Whisk in agar while the liquid is cold, about 1 teaspoon (2 g) per 1 cup (240 ml) of liquid. Bring it to a full rolling boil and hold the boil for 2 minutes, stirring, until the agar is fully dissolved. Take it off the heat, stir in your extract and about a quarter teaspoon of citric acid per cup, and pour into the molds right away, before it cools. Let it sit at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes, then flex the sheet to pop the gummies out. If they are tacky, toss them in a little sugar mixed with citric acid. Make a small test batch first; every extract shifts the set a little, and you can adjust the agar up or down on the next batch.

Enough for. Three to four full batches. The molds and most of the agar and citric acid will still be there when the syrups run out, so the refill is just the two bottles.

Common questions

• Can I skip the agar and just pour the syrup? No. A syrup never sets by itself. The 2 minute boil with agar is the step that makes a gummy.
• Can I choose the fruit syrup flavor? Write your preference in the order notes at checkout. We match it when it is in stock and otherwise send the closest flavor we have.
