Kanna Vape Cartridge (.5g Screw-On)

Kanna Vape Cartridge (.5g Screw-On) is a 0.5ml, half gram screw-on cartridge filled with a liquid made from premium Sceletium tortuosum extract, vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol and a natural essence, offered as a personal vape device for an essential-oil style experience. It is mannitol-free, the extract is carried in the glycerin base directly rather than on a substrate. The cartridge screws onto a compatible threaded battery and comes in three essences, Mango, Strawberry and Lavender. Healing Herbals fills these with our own extract, and the kanna behind it is grown through benefit-sharing partnerships with the South African San Council, the traditional custodians of Sceletium knowledge.

The herb. Kanna is the common name for Sceletium tortuosum, a ground-hugging succulent of the Aizoaceae family that grows wild in the Karoo, the dry interior of South Africa. The San and Khoikhoi have worked with the plant for generations, fermenting the harvested stems and leaves and then chewing or, in some accounts, smoking the cured material; the word kanna is their name for the eland antelope. Chemically the plant is defined by a handful of alkaloids, mesembrine, mesembrenone, delta-7-mesembrenone and mesembranol, and the ratio among them is what separates a lifted, sociable kanna from a mellow, body-heavy one.

Active content. The current label for this cartridge does not state an alkaloid percentage or a milligram figure per cartridge, so we will not quote one. It is made from premium Sceletium extract, and in our own experience inhaled kanna reads quite differently from the same extract taken by mouth: it comes on faster, it is felt much more in the body, and it is noticeably more relaxing. That body-forward character is consistent with what mesembrenone and delta-7-mesembrenone contribute in any kanna, while the brighter mesembrine note that dominates an oral extract sits further in the background when the plant is vaporized.

Dosage, first time. The label gives no puff count, so the rule is small and slow. Screw the cartridge onto your battery, take one short, gentle draw, and put it down. Inhaled kanna announces itself within a minute or two rather than the half hour an oral product needs, so you will know quickly whether that first draw was enough. Wait until the first draw has fully settled before deciding on a second.

Regular use. People tend to use the cartridge in short sessions of a few gentle draws rather than continuously. Keep each session modest and give yourself space between sessions. Stop once you feel it rather than chasing more.

What to expect. Users describe a soft, melty, body-focused calm that lands within minutes, with the mental brightness of kanna present but dialed down. It suits an evening on the couch, a wind-down after work or a moment outside when you want to let your shoulders drop. This is not the format for a focused work session or a party; for a lifted, social kanna see our RAVE high-mesembrine nasal spray. If you prefer an all-in-one unit with no battery to manage, our Kanna Vape Disposable is the disposable version of this cartridge.

Side effects. With inhaled kanna the dose-related effects show up faster and pass faster. Too many draws in a row can bring a wave of light nausea, a headache behind the eyes, a jittery feeling or a loss of interest in food, and the vapor itself can tickle or dry the throat. Any of these is your signal to put the cartridge down; the effects clear as the kanna leaves your system. If discomfort continues, stop using the product.

Common questions

• Does inhaling kanna from the cartridge feel the same as taking kanna extract by mouth? No, inhaled kanna is felt far more in the body and is more relaxing, while an oral extract reads brighter and more heady.
