Lab Results: Glow MZQ Kanna Extract, Report PHY-2026-520 (6.14% Total Alkaloids)
This is the first post in our Lab Results series. One report per post, in plain language, so you can see exactly what a lab measured and how to check it against the bag you bought. We start with Glow MZQ, our kanna extract.

The report at a glance
- Product: Glow MZQ Kanna Extract
- Lab: Phytodex (independent, United States)
- Report number: PHY-2026-520
- Sample ID: 20260710-4457
- Completed: July 14, 2026
- Result: total alkaloids 6.14%
What was tested, and how
Phytodex ran our standard kanna potency test, a Sceletium alkaloids panel by HPLC-DAD. HPLC stands for high performance liquid chromatography. The sample is dissolved, pushed through a column that separates the compounds in it, and a diode array detector (the DAD part) reads each one as it comes off the column. The lab compares what it sees against reference standards to put a number on each alkaloid.
For kanna, the panel reports four alkaloids separately: mesembrine, mesembrenone, mesembranol and delta-7 mesembrenone. Those four are then added together to give the total alkaloids figure. On this report the total came out to 6.14% by weight.
How the total works
A percent by weight means grams of alkaloid per 100 grams of extract. 6.14% is 6.14 grams per 100 grams, or 61.4 mg per gram. That is the same math every kanna report uses, which is what lets you compare one batch to another. If you have read other posts in this series you will see the same conversion over and over: move the decimal one place to go from percent to mg per gram.
The card on our Lab Results page lists the total for this report. The full breakdown of the four individual alkaloids is on the certificate image above and on the lab's own share page, which is linked below. We are not quoting the individual lines here because the card does not, and we keep every number in these posts tied to something you can see on the page.
Why the sample ID matters
Two numbers appear on this report. PHY-2026-520 is the report number Phytodex assigned. 20260710-4457 is the sample ID, which tells you the sample was logged on July 10, 2026, and is the 4,457th sample in their system. The report was completed four days later. When you ask us for a PDF or email the lab, either number points to the same record.
Matching your bag to this report
Look at the label or your packing slip for a batch or report number. If it reads PHY-2026-520, this is your report. If it shows a different number, it means your bag came from a different run. Email us the number at herbalhealingsmarketing@gmail.com and we will send the matching certificate.
Plant extracts vary a little from run to run. Harvest, drying and the extraction itself all move the number. That is the whole reason a report is tied to a batch instead of being a single figure printed on every bag forever.
Verify it yourself
Phytodex publishes a public share page for each report. Open it here: Verify PHY-2026-520 on Phytodex. Compare the report number, sample ID, date and total against the image above. They should match line for line. If anything does not, tell us.

Healing Herbals (Holistic Plant Remedies LLC) grows and extracts its own kanna in South Africa and tests finished products with independent US labs. Every report we post lists a batch, lot or report number so you can match it to what is in your hands.
Next in the series: MT5 BLOOM kanna extract, report PHY-2026-733, where we go through each alkaloid line one at a time.
