Blue lotus extract guide: powder, resin and high alkaloid
The concentrated end of our blue lotus range. Whole flower is gentle; these extracts pull the alkaloids, nuciferine and aporphine chief among them, into a small amount you can weigh. The 100:1 extract powder is the workhorse, the high alkaloid extract and high nuciferine extract are the stronger, more targeted options, and blue lotus resin plus the Hybrid Egyptian resin are thick full-spectrum concentrates. The blue lotus x amanita resin pairs lotus with our fly agaric extract. Flower is under blue lotus flower and tea, ready liquids under blue lotus tinctures.
At a glance
- Powders, resins and a high alkaloid line, all from Nymphaea caerulea
- 100:1 means 100 g of flower went into 1 g of extract
- Nuciferine-forward option for a clearer, calmer profile
- Small servings measured on a milligram scale
Powder or resin. Powder is easy to weigh, capsule or stir into a drink. Resin is a thick extract that keeps more of the flower's aromatics and is usually taken in a rice-grain sized amount or added to a smoking blend. Both are made from the same flower; pick by how you plan to use it.
How to choose.
- First extract: 100:1 extract powder.
- Stronger and more precise: high alkaloid extract.
- Clear-headed calm: high nuciferine extract.
- Topping blends or a whole-flower character: blue lotus resin.
How to use. Weigh the serving printed on the product page with a milligram scale. Powder can be capsuled, mixed into tea or held under the tongue. Resin is taken by a small measured amount or warmed and spread over a blend. Note that the high alkaloid extract can soften to a wet batter in summer transit; that is normal, and it firms back up in a cool cupboard.
What to expect. Noticeably more than tea: a relaxed, slightly dreamy mood within an hour, lasting a few hours. The nuciferine extract is described as calmer and clearer; the resins as rounder and more aromatic.
Cautions.
- Not for use if pregnant or nursing
- Avoid combining with alcohol in quantity, sedatives, or medications without asking your provider
- Adults 21 and over only; keep out of reach of children
Common questions
- Can I make tea with the extract? Yes; stir a weighed serving into hot water. It dissolves better than flower and tastes stronger.
- What is the difference between high alkaloid and 100:1? The 100:1 is a concentration ratio; the high alkaloid extract is refined further to raise total alkaloid content per gram.
- Why did my extract arrive sticky? Heat in transit. It is still good; store it cool and it sets.
