Lavender Resin Extract
Lavender Resin Extract A thick, fragrant resin made by isolating and concentrating the aromatic compounds and active terpenes of lavender flowers into a full-spectrum extract. Unlike a simple essential oil, which captures only the volatile fraction, this resin carries the plant's full aromatic character together with its calming constituents in a form that can be dissolved and enjoyed as part of a quiet evening ritual. Offered in 1g, 3g and 5g.

The herb. Lavender, Lavandula angustifolia, is a woody perennial shrub of the mint family, Lamiaceae, native to the dry hills of the western Mediterranean and now grown from Provence to the Pacific Northwest. Romans scented their baths with it, giving the plant its name from lavare, to wash, and medieval households strewed it on floors and tucked it into linens. It has been the classic fragrant evening herb of European tradition for two thousand years.
Active content. Lavender resin is sold as a whole-plant concentrate rather than a standardized percentage, which is why no alkaloid figure appears on the label. The resin concentrates linalool and linalyl acetate, the two terpenes that make up most of lavender's aroma and its soft, settling character, alongside smaller amounts of camphor, cineole and the flower's polyphenols. Linalool is the floral, quieting piece; linalyl acetate adds the sweet, fruity edge. Users describe the resin as a fragrant, gentle unwinding rather than anything heavy.
Dosage, first time. Dissolve a rice-grain portion in warm water, milk or an evening tea, or let it soften under the tongue. Lavender is strongly flavored, so start small and adjust on a later night. Onset is gentle, usually within half an hour.
Regular use. People who know their response keep a small evening portion, often paired with chamomile or lemon balm. The same portion works night after night.
What to expect. Users describe a fragrant pause, a calm, softened ease that suits the transition from a busy day into a quiet evening. It is not a daytime focus herb and not a strong sedative. For the whole flowers, see our Lavender Flower (Organic).
Side effects. Documented effects include drowsiness at larger amounts, headache from the strong aroma in sensitive people and mild digestive upset. Reduce the portion or take it with food; stop if discomfort continues.
Interactions and cautions.
- Do not combine with sedative medications or alcohol without guidance
- Consult a professional before use if you are pregnant, nursing or take any medication
Ingredients and storage. Lavender flower extract resin (Lavandula angustifolia), nothing added. Store sealed in a cool, dark place; the terpenes are volatile, so a tight lid keeps the aroma from fading.
Common questions
- Is Lavender Resin Extract the same as lavender essential oil? No, the essential oil is only the distilled volatile fraction, while the resin is a full-spectrum extract that includes the flower's other constituents and is made to be dissolved and consumed.
- How do I use lavender resin? Stir a rice-grain portion into warm milk or evening tea.
- Does lavender resin taste strong? Yes, it is intensely floral, so most people pair it with honey, chamomile or lemon balm.
