Kava Liquid 17.25% extract Gallon

Kava Liquid 17.25% extract Gallon is our bulk liquid kava: a high-potency noble kava root extract concentrated for strong kavalactone content and labeled at 17.25%, sold by the Half Gallon (64 oz) and the Gallon (128 oz). It is a fast-acting tincture built for sublingual use, for mixing into drinks and for kava bars, formulators and makers who need a consistent base for their own products. You choose the carrier: an alcohol-based version, the classic tincture with the fastest absorption, or a vegetable glycerin version that is alcohol-free and tastes slightly sweeter. Both are made by Healing Herbals from noble kava root and bottled at the same strength.

The herb. Kava, Piper methysticum, is a shrub in the pepper family cultivated for over three thousand years across Vanuatu, Fiji and Tonga, where the root is pounded, worked in water and shared at day's end as a ceremonial and social drink. Noble cultivars are the varieties islanders selected across generations for smooth daily drinking, and they are the only kind we extract. Every cultivar carries its own chemotype, a ratio of kavalactones that makes some kavas heady and others heavy, and a liquid extract captures whichever balance the root brought in.

Active content. The extract is concentrated to 17.25%, and that is the figure we stand behind; we do not publish a breakdown of individual kavalactones. The six that matter are:

• Kavain: the quick, heady, uplifting one
• Dihydrokavain and dihydromethysticin: the slower, heavy, body-focused pair
• Methysticin, yangonin and desmethoxyyangonin: shape the middle

In a liquid, especially the alcohol base held under the tongue, the fast kavalactones show up first, so the extract tends to read as brighter and quicker than the same root drunk as a bowl, with the body weight arriving behind it.

Dosage, first time. No per-serving volume is stated on the listing, and at 17.25% this is strong, so begin with a few drops. Hold them under the tongue for a minute, then swallow, or stir them into a small glass of juice or a mocktail. Take it away from meals, since kava absorbs poorly on a full stomach. Onset is fast, with a tingling, numb mouth almost at once and the effect building over twenty to thirty minutes. Wait at least an hour before adding more, and measure with a dropper or pipette rather than pouring.

Regular use. Once you have found your amount, stay at it. Reverse tolerance applies to liquid kava as much as to root, so a mild first session is normal and not a reason to escalate. Bars and makers dosing a batch should scale from a tested single serving rather than from guesswork.

What to expect. Users describe a quick, clean kava effect: relaxed, warm, social and clear at small amounts, heavier as the amount rises. The alcohol base is the choice for speed and for tincture blending; the glycerin base is the choice for anyone avoiding alcohol, for sweeter drinks and for anyone who prefers a gentler carrier. For a personal-size bottle of the same idea, see our Kava Tincture 2 FL OZ (60 ml) High Potency or the Kava Tincture High-Potency 10ml.

Side effects. The numb mouth is expected, and the alcohol version will also sting briefly under the tongue. Too much liquid extract brings nausea and drowsiness faster than root does because it absorbs faster; if that happens, stop for the day and cut the amount next time. Long-term heavy daily use of kava can produce dry, flaky skin that resolves when you stop.

Interactions and cautions.

• Do not combine kava extract with alcoholic drinks, even in the glycerin version, or with sedative or benzodiazepine medications
• Consult a professional before use if you have a liver condition or take a medication the liver metabolizes
• Take it away from meals, and do not drive until you know your response
• Not for use if pregnant or nursing
• Adults 21+ only

Ingredients and storage. Noble kava root extract (Piper methysticum) at 17.25% in either alcohol or vegetable glycerin, depending on the variant you choose. Store tightly capped in a cool, dark place. The alcohol base keeps longest; the glycerin base should be kept away from heat and used steadily once opened.

Common questions

• Which base should I pick for the Kava Liquid 17.25% extract, alcohol or vegetable glycerin? Alcohol absorbs fastest and suits tincture work, while glycerin is alcohol-free and slightly sweeter, better for drinks and for anyone avoiding alcohol.
• How many ounces are in the gallon kava extract? The Gallon is 128 oz and the Half Gallon is 64 oz.
• Can the 17.25% kava liquid be added to cocktails? Only to alcohol-free ones; kava and alcohol should not be mixed.
