The herb. Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) is a Karoo succulent long used by the San and Khoikhoi peoples. It is joined by blue lotus (Nymphaea caerulea), cordyceps, Lion's Mane and green tea (Camellia sinensis).
What's in it. Sensori is a blend, not a standardized extract, and the label prints no alkaloid or caffeine numbers, so we will not invent them. The green tea extract adds a modest caffeine lift balanced by L-theanine.
Dosage and use. The label sets no serving beyond the drink, so if new to kanna, sip half and wait, giving it thirty to forty-five minutes, since kanna by mouth comes on gradually. Because it carries green tea extract, watch your overall caffeine.
What to expect. Lifted, social and easygoing: a bright citrus sip turning into a warm, present calm over the next hour. It is not a heavy drink or a strong energy drink. For a stronger or faster kanna experience, our extracts and sprays fit better.
Side effects. How much you drink, and how fast, decides most of what you feel. A whole can on an empty stomach can bring mild nausea, a headache, jitteriness or reduced appetite. Sip slower next time.
Interactions and cautions.
- Do not combine kanna with SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs or other serotonergic medications, including triptans, tramadol and St. John's Wort, because of the risk of serotonin syndrome
- Do not use with alcohol, and do not use Sensori as a mixer
- Not for use if pregnant or nursing, or with a heart condition
- Do not stack with other stimulants or sedative medications; adults 21+ only
