The herb. Two species carry the Cordyceps reputation: Cordyceps sinensis, the wild caterpillar fungus of the Tibetan Plateau, and Cordyceps militaris, the orange cultivated species. For centuries Chinese and Tibetan herbalists simmered Cordyceps into broths and tonics. The fruiting body is where cordycepin, the notable compound, is concentrated, together with adenosine, beta-glucan polysaccharides and sterols.

Active content. No extraction ratio or cordycepin percentage is stated for this resin, so we quote none. A resin is the extractable fraction of the fruiting body with the water driven off: the nucleosides cordycepin and adenosine and the polysaccharides, held in a sticky concentrate.
