Kanna Extract Capsules High Mesembrine (Rave) are the daytime capsule in our kanna range, a Kanna + Maca Day Blend. Each vegan capsule pairs 25 mg of MT-55 high-mesembrine Sceletium tortuosum extract (5% alkaloid profile) with 600 mg of maca root powder. The herb. Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) is a low-growing succulent of the Aizoaceae family from the Karoo region of South Africa. The San and Khoikhoi peoples chewed and fermented it for generations, and the name kanna comes from their word for the eland antelope. The plant carries a small family of alkaloids, mesembrine, mesembrenone, delta-7-mesembrenone and mesembranol, and the balance between them gives each extract its character. Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is a mustard family root grown high in the Peruvian Andes, where little else will grow. Andean communities have cultivated and eaten it since before the Inca, dried and ground into flour. The root carries macamides and macaenes, glucosinolates, fiber and minerals, and tastes earthy, malty and a little sweet.

Active content. Each capsule holds 25 mg of MT-55 kanna extract with a 5% alkaloid profile, together with 600 mg of maca root powder. MT-55 is our mesembrine-dominant extract; mesembrine is the brighter, more uplifting alkaloid, while mesembrenone and delta-7-mesembrenone are the calmer, body-focused ones, which is why Rave reads as lifted, social and clear rather than heavy. At 25 mg this is a gentle, beginner-friendly amount of kanna, lighter than our Melt capsule so it fits a working day. The maca is not standardized; it is whole root powder, adding a grounded, food-like base.

Dosage, first time. Take 1 capsule with water during the day. Capsules are the slowest kanna format because the extract passes through digestion, so onset comes on gradually over the first hour and holds for a few hours. Give a single capsule the full afternoon before judging it, and do not take a second. One capsule is the intended serving, and at 25 mg most first-time users find it noticeable but easy.

Regular use. The serving stays at 1 capsule, taken when you want the lift, whether mid-morning, before a shift or ahead of a workout. Regular users keep it for days when they want to be switched on and take days off in between, since kanna stays most consistent when it is not taken daily.
