The herb. Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) is a Karoo succulent chewed by the San and Khoikhoi for generations, carrying mesembrine and mesembrenone. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a cornerstone Ayurvedic root carrying withanolides. Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) is the white tooth fungus of East Asian herbal kitchens, notable for hericenones and erinacines. Cordyceps militaris is the orange cultivated Cordyceps, rich in cordycepin. Kola nut (Kola nitida) is a West African seed chewed for a natural lift, carrying caffeine.
Active content. No alkaloid, withanolide, cordycepin or caffeine amounts are stated for COCOBERRY, so we quote none. Kanna supplies the uplift, ashwagandha keeps it grounded, Lion's Mane and Cordyceps give the clear-headed backbone, and kola adds a gentle stimulant edge.
Dosage, first time. Because kola carries caffeine and kanna comes on within the hour, start with part of the bottle earlier in the day and wait before finishing it.
Regular use. One bottle per session, in the morning or early afternoon so the kola caffeine does not run into your evening.
What to expect. A cocoa-and-berry taste with a slightly bitter herbal finish. Users describe COCOBERRY as uplifted, motivated, focused and social. It is not a wind-down; for the mellow side of the line see our Bliss Myco MAXCHILL Lemonade, and for uplift without the kola caffeine, our Bliss Myco Uplift Passion Fruit.
Side effects. Too much can bring mild nausea, headache, jitteriness or a dip in appetite from the kanna, and mild digestive upset from the mushrooms. Reduce the amount or stop. Not for anyone with a mushroom allergy.
Interactions and cautions.
- Do not combine with SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs or other serotonergic medications, including triptans, tramadol and St. John's Wort, because of the serotonin syndrome risk with kanna
- Do not stack with other stimulants or alcohol
- Cordyceps may slow blood clotting, so consult a professional if you take blood-thinning medication or face surgery
- Not if pregnant, nursing, or with a heart condition
- The label states not for persons under 18; Healing Herbals sells it to adults 21+ only
