At a glance
- Single-serve wellness shot, one shot per serving
- Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum), kava (Piper methysticum), chaga, reishi and California poppy
- Tropical flavored, third-party product from Bliss Myco
- Take on an empty or lightly filled stomach
- An evening wind-down, not a daytime or focus format
The herb. Kanna is a Karoo succulent long used by the San and Khoikhoi peoples, and kava a Pacific shrub whose root has been a ceremonial drink for more than three thousand years. Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) and reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) are traditional fungi.
What's in it. The maker does not publish milligram amounts, so we do not quote any. California poppy (Eschscholzia californica) is a traditional Western herb in the blend.
Dosage and use. One shot is the serving. If new to kanna or kava, drink half and finish once you know how it lands. Take it on an empty or lightly filled stomach, since kava absorbs better away from meals. Kava has a reverse tolerance.
What to expect. A warm, full-body calm with an easygoing lift. For a dropper-measured kanna, kava and lotus blend see our Kanna, Blue Lotus and Kava Tincture 10 ML, and for a lighter canned drink the Botanical Brewing Kanna Pomegranate Fusion.
Side effects. Too much kanna can bring mild nausea, a headache or reduced appetite; from kava, a numb mouth is normal and heavier kavas bring drowsiness. Stop, drink water and let it pass.
