Unbleached Cone Coffee Filters #4 (for Straining Tinctures & Kava)

Unbleached Cone Coffee Filters are what we reach for when a tincture or a kava batch needs a second, finer pass. A mesh bag pulls out the plant, a paper cone pulls out the silt. #4 size fits a standard pour-over cone or sits in a funnel, and the unbleached paper does not add a taste the way white filters can.

Where we use them. Polishing a glycerite after the mesh bag so it pours clear. Straining fine kava sediment out of a batch made from micronized root. Filtering a cold brew of loose leaf tea. Set the cone in a funnel over a jar and let gravity do it, squeezing pushes the fines through.

Common questions

• Will thick glycerin go through a paper filter? Slowly. Warm the glycerite to about 100F first and it drains in a few minutes instead of an hour.
• Can I use them for kava instead of a strainer bag? No, paper is too fine for the first pass and will clog. Use the strainer bag first, then a filter if you want it cleaner.
