Large Fill-Your-Own Tea Filter Bags (4x6", Drawstring)
Large Fill-Your-Own Tea Filter Bags are the big open-top bags you scoop loose herb straight into, then pull the drawstring closed. At 4 by 6 inches they hold a real serving of loose leaf, a whole pot of kava or a cold brew jar, not the pinch a standard tea bag takes. Fine mesh keeps the fine particles out of your cup without slowing the steep.
At a glance
- 4 x 6 inch, wide open top, drawstring closure
- Holds 1 to 3 tablespoons of loose herb comfortably, more if packed
- Fine food-grade mesh, no taste, no mess
- Works for hot steeping, cold brew and kava prep
- Disposable, choose 25, 50 or 100
How we use them. Scoop in the herb, cinch the string, drop it in the mug or the pitcher. For a single cup use about a tablespoon of loose leaf tea. For kava, fill one with your root powder and knead it in warm water the way you would with a strainer bag, then lift it out. For cold brew, one bag in a quart jar overnight in the fridge. When you are done the whole thing goes in the compost or trash, no strainer to clean.
Common questions
- Are these the open-top kind or sealed? Open top with a drawstring. You fill them yourself and pull them closed.
- Will fine powder leak through? Very fine extract powder can seep a little, like any tea bag. Cut and sifted leaf, flower and root stay put.
- Can I reuse them? They are made to be single use, but a rinsed bag will survive a second steep in a pinch.
